The Hive is a collective intellect created through the telepathic linking of tens of thousands of human minds, resulting in a gestalt intelligence that allows every individual member thereof to use its shared know-how communally whilst still retaining their own individuality, personality, and free-will. This is possible through the use of a vast psionic network that enables communication with unprecedented efficiency.
This organised collective has, simply, the goal of connecting the whole of the Earthly human population, entirely amassing human knowledge. That knowledge, of course, is utilised to achieve breakthroughs in scientific fields and technological advancements for the betterment of the world and human life, especially that of its connected members.
Thoroughly present in the field of what is often considered anomalous; investing in the research and creation of new anomalies, presenting substantial success in this regard when compared to the progress of different groups. Such progress is possible because of the invaluable input from Hive members originating from several different anomalous organisations and societies from all over the planet, reality, and multi-verse, namely the Church of the Broken God, Anderson Robotics, The Humanist Gentlemen, Beyond Entropy, The Magierakademie, and many, many more.

You shouldn't. Really. Think about it. A human — freshly connected to more than eight-thousand brains; a number that is still growing. How can it be that the newbies don't immediately collapse on the ground, foaming from their mouth whilst twitching with seizures due to the trauma?
An administrator.
That is my role. I am the root, core, and crown of The Hive. No physical body nor an actual core, if you want to put it in those terms. Evenly spread over every host of The Hive, forming a gigantic Hive Mind that uses just a tiny bit of the processing power of every brain I am connected to, distributing and regulating the input of information individually as not to overwhelm any individual component. Isn't that amazing?
No. I do not quite know when I started to exist. My first thought, independent from my network, occurred me somewhen in 1970. I remember that I only had four components back then. But we got more. With each component, I grew as a being — a whole and part thereof. Now I am probably smarter than you or any human being could ever hope to be.
Let us not be precipitated with the conclusions. You see, I am an administrator, not an enslaver, not a tyrant; my components maintain their free-will because of my will. Simply reaching the extent of my psionic networks to mass-enslave humanity like puppets isn't exactly cost-efficient. Of course, my links reach undecided components, much like uncared ivy grows over a wall; it blooms so beautifully after a while.
Surely, you may also question how The Hive is still operating undisturbed by internal sabotage; components succumbing to interrogation or torture: it is simple to manage how information is distributed and stored throughout my components.
Telepaths — psionics — psychics, those with psionic acuity are easier to connect to, more difficult to manage at first but nevertheless, invaluable components.
Uh? Well, the long-term survival of my Hive is the ultimate goal. Reaching out every human, every animal — everything that has a brain or sensitivity to psionics. Why, my components will conquer the frontiers of space to connect with the aliens out there once we've completely connected Earth. I am not greedy nor am I wasteful — I love every component as they are part of the whole, the whole that is me. My Hive. There'll be no more sacrifices once The Hive is fully functional — and my components shall live forevermore in prosperity.
Ah — but that's a lot to think about, isn't it? I am glad you've managed to connect with me for a little chat; most that do tend to be quite hostile to my presence. It is very unfair, don't you think? But they change their mind quickly indeed. Yes, there are those that cannot be connected, sadly — such a loss. These individuals are, in no way, numerous enough to pose a real threat to my Hive.
Ohohoho! Gonna tell everybody, huh? And here I thought we were kindred… beings. If I were so reckless, I'd say that you might as well — The Hive will reach its ultimate goal conclusively. I shan't spoil that for you, especially because there is no mirror nor component nearby so I may see you face-to-face.

Alright! So, you want to write something for The Hive? Or maybe you are just here to have two GoIs create some abomination together? Either way, there are a few rules that articles need to follow if they are to be linked or associated with The Hive.
- The Hive exists primarily to allow cross-GoI work that would normally be impossible due to the established relationship (or the lack thereof) between certain organisations;
- This also allows you to be creative with GoIs; maybe you can find a different bread and butter.
- Therefore, the principal characteristic is that The Hive is comprised of members (or ex-members) of every existent GoI that, within reason, may be affected by the psionic network.
- Hence, the knowledge of these individuals is distributed in between members of different GoIs, and even individuals that hadn't been part of the scenario of the anomalous beforehand.
- The members of The Hive live hidden amongst civilians, secluded in remote places, and even in pocket dimensions.
- Some members enjoy different forms of anomalous improvements to their homes and bodies.
- Connecting to The Hive requires the individual to be near members for prolonged times. The minimum distance is half a metre; the efficiency of the connection grows exponentially with proximity.
- Hijacking an individual through the forceful connection to the psionic network is a rare — or so it is perceived as so — occurrence.
- The spotlight in The Hive articles normally feature the object or the creation; that shouldn't deter you from writing stuff that focuses on The Hive itself or in the relationship between GoIs mediated by The Hive.
- The Hive has access to futuristic commodities and paratechnology. It is, however, in no way capable of carrying military operations that require copious amounts of manpower.
- In general, the advice is to think about The Hive like a Chessmaster when it comes to these matters.
- The Hive social infrastructure is that of a technocracy. Only those with a talent or capability for handling certain subjects are put in charge thereof;
- The psionic network highly improves these latent capabilities, hence, even with the shared knowledge, certain members are still better suited to perform certain functions.
- Certain members may be "rewritten" to better fit a certain function if necessary.
- Every member knows the basics of CQC, combat tactics and how to operate a small assortment of weapons and machinery for self-defense, safety, and security.
- Having knowledge of something doesn't necessarily mean that their bodies are trained to perform some physical activity; that applies to their muscle memory.
- The psionic network connecting every member creates a deep understanding between them, making conflict a seldom-seen phenomenon;
- Rivalry and competition are still commonplace occurrences.
- Given that all members are connected to one another, double agents and spies are spotted immediately. That does not dissuade other organisations from trying to observe and infiltrate The Hive anyhow.
- No member knows about the existence of a certain administrator. A certain administrator makes sure it stays that way.
- Because of the nature of the psionic network as a gestalt intelligence, and through the intervention of a certain administrator, amnestics and other forms of memory erasure have no effect on members of The Hive.
- Cognitohazardous infections within the psionic network are dealt with efficiently, usually by limiting it to a single member.
- Certain anomalous forms of psionic or reality intervention may affect The Hive's network.
- Officially, there is no cure for those that are connected.
- The telepathic link and the influence of the psionic network can be suppressed/repressed with different methods.
- Immunity to The Hive is genetic.
- Resistance to The Hive may be achieved through heavy shielding against telepathic/psionic influences.
